Established in 2013, the Department of Microbiology is well-equipped with independent classroom, laboratory, and departmental library. Apart from regular classes, the department organizes annual seminars, webinars, and workshops, the latest being on “COVID-19: Tools for its Containment and Management”. Each year, the students are taken to different places for Industrial Tour to acquire knowledge about the basic functionality of a microbiology-based company. The department has also signed MoU with DNA LAB, Dehradun, where students can avail all the facilities of a Medical Microbiology LAB. This year, the students visited Minchy’s Fruit Products, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh.
